At Film Independent, we recognize that theatrical screenings provide the ideal experience for viewing the Spirit Award-nominated films. The free, members-only screening series in LA and NY are for voting members of Film Independent and IFP. Membership card and ID are required for admittance.
Voting members receive priority access. Members are allowed to bring one guest if seating is available. Guests will be seated on a space available basis.
Only Film Independent Members vote to determine the winners of the annual Spirit Awards. Film Independent members are a community of filmmakers, film industry leaders, and film lovers that champion artist-driven film. All members must be paid and current by January 11, 2013 to vote for the Spirit Awards. To learn more or join, visit filmindependent.org/membership.
Spirit Awards voting period: January 25, 2013–February 19, 2013 (9:00 am PST). All eligible voters received unique login information to gain access to our voting website on January 23, 2013. Download this year’s sample ballot.
Nominee Screening Series: Starting in January 2013, all voting members and a guest can attend free screenings of all nominated films in Los Angeles or New York. Many screenings include a Q&A with cast and crew.
Many Spirit Awards-nominated films are also available on DVD or to watch online. Download the nominated films at iTunes.com/SpiritAwards.
