At Film Independent, we recognize that theatrical screenings provide the ideal experience for viewing the Spirit Award-nominated films. The free, members-only screening series in LA and NY are for voting members of Film Independent and IFP. Membership card and ID are required for admittance.

Voting members receive priority access. Members are allowed to bring one guest if seating is available. Guests will be seated on a space available basis.

THE 2013 NOMINEE SCREENING SERIES HAS CONCLUDED.

Vote for the Spirit AwardsX

Only Film Independent Members vote to determine the winners of the annual Spirit Awards. Film Independent members are a community of filmmakers, film industry leaders, and film lovers that champion artist-driven film. All members must be paid and current by January 11, 2013 to vote for the Spirit Awards. To learn more or join, visit filmindependent.org/membership.

Synopsis

On the verge of her marriage, a young Orthodox Hassidic girl and her family are struck by tragedy when her older sister dies in childbirth – and when her sister’s husband is pressed to remarry and her mother makes a startling proposition, she is forced to choose between her obedience to her family and her heart’s desire.
