Born and raised in Maryland, USA, Matthew holds degrees from
Middlebury College in 1993 and the directing program at the American
Film Institute in 2005. His thesis film at AFI, The Honeyfields, was accepted at film festivals all over the world and won numerous prizes.
During his career, Matthew has produced and directed over 30
documentary films and programs for tv and independent release. His work
has appeared on HBO, the Discovery Channel, A & E on subject matter
ranging from from homicide investigation in Memphis to the experimental
music of the music group, THE RACHELS. Matthew’s feature
documentary, Novi Sad, explores the ravaged lives of
four young men in their hometown of Novi Sad, Serbia during the Bosnian
war.
The Dynamiter is Matthew’s first film.
