Adam got his start writing and producing promos for Comedy Central. He is currently the Executive Creative Director of the production company Bodega Studios in New York City. Clients include: IBM, Mastercard, Subaru, USA Network, Volkswagen, Food Network, KIA and Toyota, among many others.
Adam’s feature film debut Hello Lonesome opened on May 27th,2011 and also played at the Los Angeles Film Festival. In his New York Times review of the film, Stephen Holden wrote “Adam Reid’s smart, poignant trilogy manages the considerable feat of creating six fully human characters. Structurally, it is a Chekhovian mosaic, similar to Rodrigo Garcia’s films in its attention to minute personal detail but somewhat lighter in tone. The dialogue is remarkably spontaneous and the performances refreshingly natural.“
Adam Reid’s short film “While the Widow is Away” won numerous festival awards and was shortlisted for an Academy Award in 2007.
Adam also wrote and directed the book trailer for The New York Times bestseller Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. More recently, Adam directed a music video for Brooklyn based band Jones Street Station’s single “The Understanding.” The video features Danny Pudi (Abed from NBC’s “Community”) and the worlds tiniest camera.
Adam brings a light touch and an old soul to all his work. He shows great affection for his lived in characters, a gift for sharp humor, and an ability to capture natural performances that ring true.
